Roberts Field
Educating From the Earth Up
And Reaching Out
The Landing of the Cranes
Extra large format origami cranes created by Roberts Field students and teachers were installed across fields of Prospect Park, one crane for each student. For graduation, these symbols of peace, prosperity, hope, and longevity adorned the event and circled us in their prominent stature. As we created them, we reveled in decorating them with various colors, textures, and geometric patterns. The scale meant that we see these inspiration concepts as central to the many dimensions of our learning and to the strength of our community - expansive and powerful. The cranes landed in the field to greet and celebrate us for our ceremony. There amidst our final school year days, we remembered our triumph through this time, what we want to continue to give back to the world, how steadily nature held us and created a respite, and we took moments to envision and look forward to all that we'll return to at Roberts Field in the fall.
